A motion poetry unfolding the history and current affairs of the female Asian immigrants working in New York Fashion District.

In New York’s Chinatown garment factories, sewing machines run day after day. Chinese immigrant women sew garments destined for places around the world while building lives of their own through years of labor. Through observation and interviews, the film follows their reflections on migration, family, work, and life. As their stories unfold, the history of the 1982 Chinese garment workers’ rally gradually emerges. More than forty years ago, tens of thousands of women marched through Chinatown to demand labor rights, leaving a defining chapter in Asian American labor history. Past and present echo one another through their voices and memories.

It is an ode to the female Asian immigrants and their paths of American dream.
